The “Yes, You Can!” program is an extension of United Churches of Akeley and Nevis. UCAN provides advocacy and financial assistance to individuals and families in crisis. Yes, You Can’s! purpose is to further assist those underemployed and unemployed to find and retain jobs and to develop a sense of self-worth and value through mentoring and training.

Yes, You Can! is housed in the former fellowship hall of First Lutheran Church on the lower level. Space is allocated for intake interviews, resume writing and training sessions.  If clothing is needed for job interviews, a clothing voucher is written to be redeemed at the Akeley Regional Community Center of Akeley.

Support for this ministry could come in the form of preparation of the center, donations to the   volunteer mentoring, volunteer help with resume building and basic computer skills, staffing the program on Tuesday mornings, consulting for appearance or interviewing, or cash donations.
